The following information is for Exhibitors at Wheels at Wanaka. It covers when to turn up, where to go, what to bring and what you should know before the show. If you've any further questions, please consult our FAQ's or contact us info@wheelsatwanaka.co.nz

Display vehicle entrance is at 135 Ballantyne Road, Wanaka. See map below:

When to turn up

All exhibitors can enter the site from Thursday morning (unless otherwise arranged).  

Gates open at 7.30am on Thursday and 6.30am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Stationary Engines will NOT have access to their paddock between 9.00am to 4.30pm on Friday, 7 April Earthmoving Practise Day‍

ALL -CAN SET UP on Thursday 6 April, all day until sunset

ONLY FOR STATIONARY ENGINES Friday, 7 April, 6.30am - 8.30am and 4.30pm - 6.30pm

CARS, TRUCKS, TRADES & BIKES - can set up all day Friday

AND Saturday, 6.30am - 9.00am.

AND Sunday, 6.30am - 9.00am.

A loading Dock is available and a tele-handler or wheel loader is available but must be pre-booked.

Got a head-turning car to display? You can turn up on the day between 6.30am and well before 8.30am please.

Tickets - 3 Day Exhibitors & Supporters Passes

Pre-paid entries will receive RED wrist bands one arrival and on scanning of your ticket bar code.  This can only be scanned once.

Bring your emailed Tickets with Bar Codes. Print them or have ready on your phone for check-in.

If you'd like to add more supporters passes then go back to the ticketing site and sign them up with your vehicle.

PAYING ON THE DAY: If you are paying on the day, please arrive early (between 6:30am and  8:30am). The Show is open to the public at 9.00am

It is your responsibility to distribute tickets with bar codes to your supporters.

3 Day Wrist Bands = Your Pass for the weekend

RED = Exhibitors Adults,
PURPLE = all Campers
GREEN = Youth & Kids (12 & under are FREE),
GOLD = VIP Partners / Sponsors
ORANGE = Volunteers
PINK = Enduro X (dirt bikes)

Your wrist band gives you FREE Entry to the Shakedown in the Shed Awards (bands, awards, raffles & prizes).
Saturday, 8 April 5.00pm to 11.00pm

A FREE Town Shuttle will be available to Wanaka township.

What to bring

Your sense of humour and flexibility when things need to change.

No BYO Alcohol. You can bring a picnic (food), blanket, camp chairs, umbrellas and eBikes and eScooters.

No ATV's or personal golf carts are allowed onsite.

Please leave your dogs at home.

What is the program?

Check out the Highlands Parade Ground Program - there's a different parade every 15 minutes from 9 am to 4.00 pm.
Select the parade you'd like to be in and be ready 10 mins prior, lined up in your entry lane way and a facilitator will let you know when to move. A Program can be downloaded

Want to participate in the Shotover 4WD demo pit?

If you’re a Wheels at Wanaka exhibitor and fancy yourself as a 4WDer then put your wheels and driving skills to the test with a team at hand for tips, tricks and a towrope if required.
This will be subject to:

joining the Shotover 4WD Club at a special rate which includes NZFWDA affiliation fees for insurance etc

completing an online registration form for drivers:

completing a separate form for passengers aged 20 years and over

Parade Ground & Loop Road Movements (CLOCKWISE Direction)

Highlands Parade Ground Program - select the parade you'd like to be in and be ready 10 mins prior, lined up in your entry laneway and a facilitator will let you know when to move.

Our enthusiasts being enthusiastic is make Wheels at Wanaka's history in motion show come to life. We appreciate your participation and patience, to drive slow and wait nicely for your turn in the sunshine.

All vehicles are to move in a clockwise manner for the entire venue - including the parade ground and shuttles.

Trucks (blue arrows)
- must be parked at least 10m back from ALL access roads
- will enter the parade ground via gate 3 and exit via gate 2
- and should NOT reverse (if it is avoidable)

Cars (green arrows)

- enter parade ground gate 1 and exit gate 4
- return to car parking via clockwise loop road

Modern & Modified Tractors (green arrows)
- be flexible in approach
- enter the parade ground from gate 3 (due to trucks exiting gate 2 beforehand) and
- exit gate 2 back to the tractor pull or parking.

Traction Engines (green arrows)
- in gate 1 and out gate 4

Vintage Tractors & Crawlers (green arrows)
- enter the parade ground via gate 1 and
- exit via the vintage tractor gate.

Dirt Motorbikes, ATV's & Shotover Club 4WD's & Rally (pink arrows)
- enter the parade ground via gate 3 and
- exit via gate 2

Oceana Cat 780 (blue arrow)
- enter gate 3

Vehicles can be left over night, security guards will be onsite, the site is secured overnight with patrolling security guards and lighting.

No camping allowed within the event site. Camping must be within allocated zone

NOTE: If your car or utility is NOT on show, then it MUST be parked in the Exhibitors Car Park, outside the main event gates/zone. You cannot use your personal vehicle to get around and view the show. We have FREE shuttles busses for this purpose.

Only vehicles with the correct certificates will be allowed within the event zone, you will be turned around at the boom gates without the certificate.

Wheels at Wanaka has various transportation options for getting to and around the venue:

FREE Yello! buses are available every 30 minutes from the public gates to Wanaka township/return and Taxis can be booked on 0800 443 5555

FREE Yello! busses are available from 8.30pm - 11.30pm on Saturday 8 April for Shakedown in the Shed Awards evening attendees.

Self-contained  Camping for Exhibitors

There are a limited number of camp sites available to Enthusiasts and Trade Stall Holders Only. Self-Contained Motor-homes, Trucks or Caravans are welcome to stay onsite at our Campground from Easter Friday to Easter Monday. For FAQ's see Exhibitors Camping FAQs.

Camping will only be allowed in our designated camp site.
